Fire Gutted 10 Houses in Kramat

Fire gutted 10 houses in densely populated area in Gang 10 RT 03/08, Kramat Urban Village, Senen, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (11/3). No casualty in this incident but the material loss estimated Rp 500 million.

Information collected, the fire was first known at 11.25 AM from one of rented houses. The difficult access towards the location made the extinguishing needs extra time and energy.

Head of Central Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-Department, Idris Daharina Na'abah stated that as many as 30 firetrucks were deployed to the scene.

According to him, commonly the buildings are made of flammable woods so that the fire gutted the 10 buildings rapidly.

Imah (35), a local hopes her residential to be provided with hydrants. Since her neighborhood is relatively prone to fire.

"It should be provided with hydrant to accelerate extinguishing if fire happens," she hoped.
